Review-dated assumptions

Method, sources, and limitations

Dimensional weight is package volume divided by a rule-specific divisor. The compared chargeable weight is the greater of actual and dimensional weight after only the selected rounding rules.

Calculation order

  1. Apply the selected dimension treatment to each packed outer dimension.
  2. Multiply the three measured dimensions and divide by the preset or custom divisor.
  3. Apply the selected compared-weight rounding to actual and dimensional weight.
  4. Choose the greater value and multiply it by the number of identical packages.

Why results can differ from an invoice

Carrier rules vary by country, service, rate type, packaging, account contract, route, and measurement system. Automated scans may record larger dimensions. Minimum weights, large-package rules, surcharges, and final billing increments are outside this calculator. A preset is a transparent starting point, not a quote or contractual interpretation.
